Privacy Policy
Effective August 24, 2026
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password. That's the only personal information we ask for.
- Your topics: the topics you track and your digest preferences.
- Usage data: searches performed and product events (e.g. a summary viewed, a source clicked), used to improve the product. Anonymous visitors are rate-limited by IP address, which is processed but not tied to a profile.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we only store your subscription status.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal data. Ever.
- We don't send marketing email. You get digest emails for topics you chose to track — each one has a one-click unsubscribe — plus essential account emails such as password resets.
- We don't store the full text of news articles; we store short excerpts and always link you to the original publisher.
Who processes data for us
TopicTracker runs on trusted service providers, each processing only what their role requires: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic (AI summarization — your search queries and article excerpts are sent to generate summaries), news data providers (your search terms are sent to retrieve articles), Upstash (caching and rate limiting), and — for product analytics and error monitoring — PostHog and Sentry.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies to understand how the product is used. We don't use advertising cookies.
Your rights & deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, tracked topics, and digest history are erased, and any active subscription is canceled. You may also ask us to export or correct your data.
